Halal Travel Network (HTN): The Halal Travel Network (referred to as HTN) is a global platform that connects businesses offering halal-compliant services with travellers seeking halal-conscious experiences. HTN provides training, research, consultations, event management, and an online marketplace to promote halal tourism. HTN is dedicated to supporting businesses in achieving and maintaining halal compliance while also expanding their reach in the global tourism market.

Member: A Member refers to any individual, business, or organisation that has registered for a membership with HTN. Members receive various benefits depending on their membership tier, including access to training, the marketplace, events, and marketing support. A member agrees to adhere to HTN’s terms and conditions, maintain halal compliance, and actively participate in HTN's programs and services.

Halal Compliance: Adherence to Islamic principles in the production, service, and delivery of products or services. For HTN, this includes ensuring that all products and services marketed or listed by members meet halal certification standards, especially those concerning food, accommodation, and travel practices.

Marketplace Listings: Refers to the products or services that members list on HTN’s online marketplace. These listings are made available to halal-conscious consumers, and members are responsible for ensuring that their listings are accurate, up-to-date, and halal-compliant.

Premium Members: Members who subscribe to higher membership tiers (Plan 3 or Plan 4) that offer additional benefits such as priority marketplace listings, custom workshops, tailored marketing support, and exclusive consultations. Premium members have more visibility and access to resources that help them enhance their business.

Assessment: A formal review conducted by HTN to evaluate whether a member’s products or services comply with halal standards and are market-ready. The assessment process may result in a report with recommendations for improving compliance and market positioning.

Event Participation: Involvement in HTN-organised events, such as seminars, trade shows, or networking opportunities. These events provide members with opportunities to promote their services, connect with industry professionals, and expand their business network.

Commission Rate: The percentage of a sale or transaction retained by HTN when products or services are sold or booked through the HTN marketplace. This commission varies based on the membership tier, with lower rates for non-profit members.

Content Submission: Refers to any reviews, articles, testimonials, or other materials submitted by members for inclusion on HTN’s platform or for use in HTN marketing campaigns. Members grant HTN the right to use this content while retaining ownership of their intellectual property.

Third-Party Services: Services or products provided by external companies or individuals that may be promoted or listed on HTN’s platform. HTN is not responsible for the performance or quality of third-party services, and any disputes must be resolved between the member and the service provider.

2. Membership Tiers and Benefits

HTN offers four membership tiers, each tailored to suit different business needs and sizes:

Plan 1 (£99/year): This tier grants access to our HTN Academy, where members can complete various training courses related to halal certification, cultural sensitivity, and industry trends. In addition, members can list products and services on the HTN marketplace, benefiting from basic exposure to halal-conscious travellers.

Plan 2 (£350/year): Building on the benefits of Plan 1, this tier also includes invitations to participate in HTN-hosted events, such as industry seminars and networking opportunities. Members in this tier can also request product and service assessments to ensure they meet halal standards and are ready for the market.

Members in this tier also receive custom workshops, tailored to their specific needs, and can participate in consultations designed to improve business strategies and marketing efforts.

Plan 4 (Free): Reserved for social enterprises and non-profits, this tier provides the same benefits as Plan 3, but with a reduced commission rate for services booked through the HTN marketplace. It is designed to support charitable and non-profit organisations that align with HTN’s mission

3. Training Courses

HTN believes that continuous education is crucial for the growth of businesses in the halal tourism sector. As part of your membership, HTN offers access to the HTN Academy, where you can take part in training programs designed to improve your understanding of halal certification, cultural sensitivity, and evolving market trends.

For premium members, we also offer customised training programs tailored to the specific needs of your business. This ensures that whether you are just starting out or looking to refine your offerings, you have the knowledge and tools to succeed.

As a member, it is your responsibility to complete the relevant training courses and seek additional training when needed to maintain halal compliance. If you identify any gaps in the training provided, we encourage you to inform us so we can continue to improve our offerings. Please note that all training materials are the intellectual property of HTN and must not be recorded, shared, or resold without our explicit permission.

4. Research and Development

HTN is dedicated to advancing the halal tourism sector through comprehensive research. As a member, you will benefit from access to market research and reports that provide valuable insights into trends, consumer behaviour, and emerging opportunities within halal tourism. These resources are designed to help you make informed business decisions and stay competitive in this growing industry.

The research we conduct is the property of HTN, and we may use it for internal marketing purposes, provided it complies with data protection laws and respects your privacy. We also welcome input from our members. Your participation in research projects and your feedback are invaluable in helping us refine our reports and tailor them to the needs of our community.

Please note that while you are free to use our research to improve your business, it cannot be redistributed or shared externally without our prior written consent.

5. Product and Service Assessments

For premium members, HTN offers a comprehensive assessment service to ensure that your products and services meet halal standards and are ready for the market. Our assessments include a detailed review of your offerings, followed by a written report that provides actionable recommendations on how to improve compliance and enhance your market positioning.

It is your responsibility to provide all necessary documentation and information to facilitate the assessment process. Once the assessment is complete, we expect you to implement the recommended changes to ensure your products and services are fully compliant with halal guidelines. These assessments are designed to help you succeed in a competitive and ethically-conscious marketplace.

6. Events Management

HTN regularly organises events, including industry seminars, networking sessions, and trade shows, where members can connect with key players in the halal tourism sector. These events provide valuable opportunities for education, collaboration, and promotion.

As a member, you will receive invitations to participate in these events. If you are a premium member, HTN may also offer additional support, including pre-event marketing and on-site representation if you are unable to attend in person. We encourage you to take full advantage of these opportunities to showcase your brand and expand your network.

Members are expected to actively participate in events by attending, providing relevant marketing materials, or sponsoring events as appropriate. Additionally, members are encouraged to promote HTN-organised events within their own networks to maximise industry engagement.

7. Consultation Services

As part of our premium membership, HTN offers personalised consultation services. These consultations are designed to help you improve your business strategy, enhance your marketing efforts, and better position your products or services in the halal tourism market.

During these consultations, we will work with you to develop a customised marketing plan that aligns with your business goals and improves your visibility in the marketplace. We will also provide strategic advice on business operations and growth.

It is your responsibility to engage fully with our consultants, providing all necessary information and data for an effective consultation. You are expected to implement the recommendations provided in order to optimise your business performance.

8. Online Marketplace

One of the key benefits of HTN membership is access to our online marketplace, where you can list your products and services for halal-conscious travellers. Premium members benefit from priority listings, which offer greater visibility and increased exposure.

HTN will promote your listings through targeted marketing campaigns, social media outreach, and email communications, helping you reach the right audience.

As a member, it is your responsibility to provide accurate and up-to-date information for your listings, including product descriptions, prices, and any relevant halal certifications. You must ensure that your listings comply with HTN’s marketplace policies and adhere to halal standards. HTN reserves the right to remove or suspend any listings that do not meet these requirements.

9. Content Submission and Reviews

HTN encourages members to submit content, including reviews, testimonials, and articles, which may be featured on our platform or used in marketing campaigns. By submitting content, you grant HTN the right to use, edit, and display your contributions across our website, social media, and promotional materials.

All submitted content must be original and align with HTN’s ethical and halal standards. HTN reserves the right to moderate, edit, or reject any content that does not meet these criteria or is deemed inappropriate. Members retain ownership of their intellectual property but agree that HTN may use the submitted content for promotional purposes without additional compensation.

10. Third-Party Services and Listings

HTN may promote third-party services, including accommodations, travel packages, and other products, on its platform. While we strive to ensure that these third-party services meet halal standards, HTN is not responsible for the quality, performance, or conduct of these external providers.

Any disputes or issues arising from the use of third-party services must be resolved directly between the member and the service provider. HTN will not be held liable for any damages or losses resulting from third-party transactions.

11. Fees and Commissions

Each HTN membership tier has an associated annual fee, which is payable upon joining or renewing your membership. In addition to the membership fee, HTN charges a commission on sales made through its marketplace. The commission rate is 7.5% for Plans 1, 2, and 3, while social enterprises and non-profits under Plan 4 enjoy a reduced commission rate of 5%.

Members will be informed of all applicable fees at the time of enrolment. HTN reserves the right to revise its fee structure with prior notice to members.

12. Refund Policy

Refunds for membership fees or event participation may be available under certain conditions. Requests for cancellations and refunds must be submitted within the specified timeframes outlined in the refund policy for each service or event. Cancellations made after the cut-off dates may not be eligible for a refund.

HTN will review each refund request on a case-by-case basis and reserves the right to decline refunds for services already rendered or where terms have been violated.

13. Intellectual Property

All content provided by HTN, including training materials, research reports, and assessments, is the intellectual property of HTN. Members are granted a limited, non-transferable license to use these materials solely for their business purposes. Any unauthorised reproduction, distribution, or resale of HTN content is strictly prohibited.

Members retain ownership of their logos, trademarks, and other intellectual property. However, by submitting content to HTN, members grant HTN the right to use and display this content for promotional and marketing purposes across various platforms.

14. Ethical and Halal Compliance

HTN is committed to maintaining halal and ethical standards across all its services and expects the same from its members. All products and services listed or promoted through HTN’s platform must be halal-compliant, adhering to Islamic principles in production and service delivery.

Members are responsible for maintaining their halal certification and ensuring ongoing compliance with these standards. HTN reserves the right to audit or review members' halal compliance at any time. If a member is found to be non-compliant, HTN may suspend or terminate their membership and marketplace listings.

15. Termination of Membership

HTN reserves the right to terminate a membership if a member is found to be in violation of these terms and conditions, fails to maintain halal compliance, or engages in conduct that is harmful to HTN’s reputation. Termination may also occur for non-payment of fees or breach of marketplace policies.

In the event of termination, HTN will review whether the member is eligible for a refund based on the timing and circumstances of the termination

16. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

HTN reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Members will be notified of significant changes to the terms, and their continued participation in HTN’s services will be considered as acceptance of the new terms.

We encourage all members to regularly review these terms to stay informed of any updates
